A 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday evening in the South Shore neighborhood.

The teenager was on a bicycle in the 7100 block of South Ridgeland about 6:25 p.m. when someone in dark clothing walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The shooter then ran away.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the right hand and was taken in good condition to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

A police source said he is a documented gang-member and is not cooperating with investigators.
