Officers responded about 1:25 p.m. Sunday to a call of a 32-year-old man shot by a suspect who attempted to rob him at New Way Foods in the 1300 block of East Lincoln Highway in Ford Heights, a statement from police said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
