A west suburban man was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly sexually assaulting a child he knew over a seven-year period.

Timothy J. Dolan, 51, pleaded guilty Thursday to criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony; and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, according to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

Dolan, who lives on Windermere Road in Winfield and formerly lived in Geneva, sexually assaulted and sexually abused the victim at a home in Geneva between August 1998 and August 2005, a statement from prosecutors said. He knew the victim, who was younger than 18 at the time.
