Two men wounded in Lawndale shooting

Two men were wounded in a shooting Friday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The victims, ages 40 and 24, were dropped off at Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds at 9:40 a.m., according to Chicago Police.

The older man was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 2800 block of West Polk talking to the younger man who was standing outside when a red vehicle pulled up and someone inside started shooting, police said.

The 40-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to the head, police said. His condition was stabilized. The 24-year-old was shot in the hand and was listed in good condition.

A police source said the 24-year-old is a documented gang member and the 40-year-old is a convicted felon.
