Man shot, wounded in East Garfield Park

A man was wounded in a shooting Saturday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 9:35 a.m., the 22-year-old was driving north in the 100 block of South Homan when a light colored car pulled up and someone inside shot at the man, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and took himself to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
