A man was shot in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side Saturday night.

At 6:44 p.m., the 19-year-old man was sitting in a car in the 5900 block of West Wrightwood Avenue, when a car with four people inside drove up next to his. There was an exchange of words, and someone from inside the car fired six shots into the car the man was sitting in, police said.

He suffered three gunshot wounds to both legs, and his girlfriend drove him to Community First Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.
