Woman stabbed in West Englewood

A 24-year-old woman was stabbed Sunday night in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The woman was walking on the sidewalk at 8:55 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Garfield Boulevard when a male came up behind her and cut her head and the right side of her neck before running away, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital where her condition was stabilized.
