All clear given at Oak Park and River Forest High School

A west suburban high school campus has reopened Tuesday morning after a threat posted on social media prompted a temporary soft lockdown.

Oak Park and River Forest High School’s campus at 201 N. Scoville Ave. in Oak Park was closed after a student saw a social media post that she thought indicated a threat of a weapon on campus, according to an email sent to parents by the school’s director of communications Karin Sullivan.

Authorities investigated and found there was no threat to the school.

The campus has reopened and normal activities have resumed as of 10:45 a.m., according to the email.
