Former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was in a familiar place Tuesday night, sitting courtside at the United Center.

Thibodeau was taking in the Champions Classic, which pitted Kentucky against Duke and Kansas against Michigan State in Chicago.

As much as he probably had the urge to do something like this, Thibodeau sat quietly in his seat.

The last game Thibodeau took in at the United Center was a 94-73 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in May.

Thibodeau has made his rounds through the NBA this season, but likely isn’t looking to take a coaching job right away. By staying unemployed, Thibodeau can continue to collect a check from the Bulls.

The now Fred Hoiberg-led Bulls take on the Suns in Phoenix Wednesday night.
