For an athlete, injuries are no joking matter. Just ask Derrick Rose.

The Bulls guard has been quite emotional when coming back from his share of knee surgeries.

When Rose took a bad step and left the game in the fourth quarter, Bulls fans collectively held their breath.

They exhaled when “ankle sprain” was the diagnosis. So, too, did Rose who was able to joke about it after the game with reporters.

Rose was asked, “how does it feel right now?”

“Like an ankle sprain,” Rose said laughing. “You haven’t ever sprained your ankle? It throbs a little bit. Not the norm. So, I’m hurt.”

Until he had to leave the game with about six minutes remaining, Rose was having perhaps his best game of the season. He scored 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting had six assists and no turnovers in the Bulls’ 96-95 victory over the Pacers.
