A north suburban man has been charged with possessing child pornography for the second time in five years.

Allen Ayen, 67, faces three new counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Lake County state’s attorney’s office.

Investigators searched a hotel room in the 39000 block of North Sheridan Road and arrested Ayen after evidence of child pornography was discovered, according to prosecutors.

Ayen was previously charged with possession of child porn in 2010 after investigators found more than 1,000 images and more than 700 videos displaying child porn in his possession, prosecutors said. He is already a registered sex offender.

Ayen is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
