Man shot while entering house in Englewood

A man was wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 21-year-old was walking into a house in the 5700 block of South Peoria at 1:25 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

He was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Gaines said.
