The 2015 season ended less than 24 hours ago, but sportsbook Bovada is already looking ahead to 2016 and sees good things in the Cubs’ future.

The online book released its early 2016 World Series odds today, and the Cubs are 11/1 favorites.

Chicago’s North Side club won 97 games this past season and advanced to the NLCS before being beaten by the Mets.

After defeating the Cardinals in the NLDS, the Cubs were favored to win the World Series this year.

But with a nucleus of young talent and a Chicago-sized checkbook, the Cubs figure to be contenders once again next season as they chase their first world championship since 1908.

The Royals, who claimed their first World Series in 30 years Sunday night, are second at 12/1, according to Bovada.

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook also recently released its 2016 odds and listed the Cubs at 10/1, second behind the Los Angeles Dodgers at 8/1.
