A man was shot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the South Side Friday afternoon.

At 4:27 p.m., the 20-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 6600 block of South Claremont Avenue when someone walked up to the man from a vehicle, asked him a question and then fired a round, police said.

The shooter ran south and the car he was in drove off north on Claremont, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized.
