Bronzeville man shot to death in Englewood

A 20-year-old man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in Englewood.

Jacques Barnes was in a vehicle in the 1000 block of West 71st Street at 2:50 p.m. when another vehicle pulled up and someone got out and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was shot in the head and body and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m., authorities said.

Barnes lived in the 4700 block of South Wabash.
