A 16-year-old girl was shot Monday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The girl was walking on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of South Albany about 10:45 p.m. when a gunman got out of a dark-colored car and fired shots at her, police said.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.
