Both Illinois State and Maryland have high hopes for this season of college basketball, although those goals are vastly different. While ISU hopes to reach the NCAA Tournament, Maryland has their eyes on a National Championship.

Even with that difference in season outlook, the Redbirds are giving Maryland everything they can ask for through the first half of their game in Cancun, Mexico Tuesday night. At halftime, the score is 31-30 Maryland.

Paris Lee is the story of the game so far for ISU. The junior guard from Maywood has a game high of 11-points through the first half.

Lee has been a threat both from beyond the arc and attacking the basket, hitting both of his threes and forcing an and-one. He has also been tasked with the difficult job of helping to contain All-American Maryland guard Melo Tremble.
