Man killed, another wounded in Englewood shooting

One man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The men, ages 34 and 59, were getting into a van about 2:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Morgan when someone in another vehicle shot at them, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

The older man, identified as Kenneth Noble, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene at 2:56 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Noble lived in the 11000 block of South Wentworth.

The 34-year-old was shot in the shoulder and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Gaines said.
