Three-and-out: Bears’ best from win vs. Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. —Three observations from the Bears’ 17-13 win against the rival Packers on Thursday night:

1. Prosinski shines

Chris Prosinski played the best quarter of his life Thursday.

About four minutes into the second quarter, the one-time backup safety — starting for the injured Antrel Rolle — forced an Eddie Lacy fumble. Lamarr Houston recovered it at the Packers’ 34, and the Bears scored a touchdown nine plays later.

With about two minutes left in the first half, Prosinski was the only thing standing between two blockers on a screen pass and a James Starks touchdown.

Prosinski eluded the blocker and made the tackle, forcing third down. The Packers eventually settled for a 22-yard field goal.

Mr. Touchdown

All Zach Miller does is catch touchdowns.

The Bears tight end caught a three-yarder from Jay Cutler on third-and-goal in the second quarter. It marked the tight end’s fourth score in his last four games, including the game-winner in San Diego.

That matches his career total from 2009 to this season.

Amazingly, only five tight ends have more touchdown catches this season.

Miller’s four scores is one more than Martellus Bennett — who sat Thursday with a ribs injury — has this season.

Almost disaster

Lacy almost became infamous Thursday when he dropped the football right as he crossed the goal line for a 25-yard touchdown run. Officials reviewed the play, curious if the drop came before he crossed the goal line.

They ruled the Packers running back had the ball in his hand when he crossed the goal line, and Green Bay took a 7-0 lead.
