One hospitalized after Crystal Lake house fire

One person was injured in a house fire Tuesday morning in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

Firefighters responded to a single-family home in the 6000 block of Blue Court at 6:34 a.m., according to a statement from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.

The residents heard an explosion in the basement and evacuated the home, according to the statement.

One person was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the statement. No firefighters were hurt.

The damage to the house and its contents was estimated at $300,000, according to the statement.

The State Fire Marshal was notified and the fire remains under investigation.
