A man was shot and critically wounded near an Albany Park neighborhood Brown Line station during Monday’s evening rush hour.

The 20-year-old man was standing outside in the 4700 block of North Kimball Avenue at 5:26 p.m. when someone walked up from an alley and fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The CTA’s Kimball Brown Line station is located on the same block.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
