Chicago Police are searching for a man who grabbed a boy inappropriately as he was walking to school last week in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The boy was walking to an after-school program in the 3500 block of West Ogden at 3:45 p.m. Nov. 17 when a man walked up, inappropriately grabbed the boy’s genitals, then ran away, according to a community alert from the police Special Investigation Unit.

The suspect was described as a 25-year-old black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red and white gym shoes, police said.

Police advise parents in the neighborhood to escort their children to school, and caution children to be alert for strangers and report anything suspicious.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 492-3810.
