Robberies reported in Austin

Police are warming residents of a series of robberies over the past month in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The robberies occurred:

  • at 5:10 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 4800 block of West Harrison Street;
  • at 5:20 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue;
  • at 6:10 p.m. Oct. 28 in the 600 block of South Cicero Avenue.

In each incident, the robbers approached the victim and either threaten or use physical force to take their property, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

In one incident, the suspects are described as two black men between 26 to 28 years old, standing 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and weighing 170-to-175 pounds.
