10 shot across Chicago Friday

10 people were wounded — six of them critically — in shootings across Chicago Friday.

The most recent shooting occurred at 8:59 p.m. in the South Side Roseland neighborhood.

A 17-year-old boy was riding in the back seat of a car traveling south on South Perry Avenue near 115th Street when he was shot in the right side of his back, according to Chicago Police. The teen was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, police said.

An attack just one hour before left three men in critical condition in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The men — ages 19, 27 and 51 — were outside in the 1400 block of North Kildare about 8 p.m. when two gunmen walked up, started shooting and then ran away, police said

The youngest man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, arm and buttocks. The 27-year-old was shot in the leg and arm, and the 51-year-old in the abdomen, police said. They were taken to Stroger Hospital. All were listed in critical condition.

About 5:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man was critically wounded in a West Garfield Park shooting. He was outside in the 4500 block of West Maypole when someone in a tan van opened fire, striking him in the femur, police said. The van took off westbound on Maypole, and he was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition.

Just before 1 p.m., three teenagers were shot outside a Southwest Side alternative high school.

The teens were shot as they stood outside Camelot Excel Southwest High School near 70th and Washtenaw in the Marquette Park neighborhood about 12:50 p.m., police said.

Someone with a gun fired shots from a gangway across the street, striking the three: a 17-year-old boy shot in the torso; a 17-year-old girl with a graze wound to the ankle; and a 15-year-old boy, also with a graze wound, police said.

All three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the 17-year-old boy was listed in serious-to-critical condition, officials said. The other teens were listed in good condition.

The attack was the second shooting outside a school in two days.

Friday morning, a 45-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery attempt in West Pullman on the Far South Side. He was found inside a vehicle just before 7 a.m. in the 300 block of East 119th Street with gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen. The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition, but eventually he stabilized, police said.

The day’s first shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in Bronzeville on the South Side. A 43-year-old man was in the 4700 block of South Prairie when someone in a blue car shot him in the left side. He drove himself to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and was later transferred to Stroger, where his condition stabilized, police said.
