Northwestern soon to break ground on lakefront training facility

Northwestern officials announced on Friday that they would break ground on a new, state-of-the-art facility on Nov. 13.

According to reports, the project includes an indoor practice field for the Northwestern football team, a new headquarters for coaches, meeting rooms and locker rooms. It will also house an academic center reportedly.

To have a training facility on the lake front will be a rare feat that few teams in the nation can claim. This building could become the biggest recruiting tool football coach Pat Fitzgerald will have at his disposal.

Construction is to begin immediately following the ground breaking. The price tag for this lakefront beauty is projected at $225 million.
