HBO worlds collided when Northwestern attendees George R.R. Martin and Julia Louis-Dreyfus posed for a selfie during the Wildcats’ game against Penn State Saturday.

Martin, writer of the popular “Game of Thrones” series and a 1970 NU grad, was honored on the field during the game. His novels are the basis of the popular HBO show with the same name.

Louis-Dreyfus is the star of HBO’s “Veep” and her son recently walked on to the Wildcats basketball team.

After getting her start at Chicago’s Second City, Louis-Dreyfus became regarded for her work on “Seinfeld” and “Saturday Night Live.”

Louis-Dreyfus captioned the photo “Veep of Thrones.” I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking that would make one interesting crossover.

The Wildcats won 23-21 on Jack Mitchell’s last-minute field goal.
