SHARE 14th District police station evacuated because of suspicious package

The 14th District Chicago Police station was evacuated Monday afternoon because of a suspicious package.

A citizen brought the unknown object into the station at Shakespeare District station at 2150 N. California at 12:35 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

A Level 1 HazMat response was called and the station evacuated, according to police and fire officials. Crews are testing a suspicious substance.

No injuries have been reported.
