Knobloch leads Marengo past ACC, into sectional final

Marengo coach Nate Wright joked on Monday that the Indians and Aurora Central Catholic could break a record for most 3-point attempts in game in Tuesday’s sectional semifinal.

They didn’t set a record, but Wright was not surprised by what he saw.

Zach Knobloch made six from behind the arc, finishing with 30 points as Marengo beat the Chargers, 76-67, to advance to the Class 3A Rochelle Sectional championship.
