A man is facing several charges after he crashed a stolen vehicle early Monday outside an Englewood gas station, injuring himself and two others.

Deonta T. Carson, 19, is charged with felony vehicular hijacking, two felony counts of aggravated DUI, two misdemeanor counts of resisting a peace officer, one misdemeanor count each of DUI and violating parole; and two traffic citations, according to Chicago Police.

Carson was speeding southbound on Halsted in a stolen silver SUV when he crashed, striking a car in the intersection at 71st Street, police said. The car then struck a light pole before stopping, police said.

Carson was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The 19-year-old woman driving the car and a 36-year-old man who was her passenger were also hurt and taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Carson, of the 5700 block of South Green, was ordered held on a $750,000 bond and will next appear in court Monday, court records show.
