A man accused of stabbing his 27-year-old roommate multiple times in Hyde Park was arrested Monday in Dallas, Texas, officials said.
Ross Jacobs, 27, was booked about 12:45 p.m. at Dallas County Jail, according to jail records. He was denied bail for an attempted murder charge and was awaiting extradition as of Wednesday morning, according to jail records and Chicago Police.
Jacobs allegedly stabbed his roommate repeatedly at their apartment in the 5400 block of South Hyde Park Boulevard about 3 a.m. March 13, police said.
The roommate was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
Jacobs ran off after the stabbing. Police sent out a community alert describing Jacobs, who is a former University of Chicago student. The alert said he was wanted for aggravated battery with a knife.
Dallas police did not immediately return a call Wednesday morning for more details about the arrest.
