Man shot in chest in Chatham

A 27-year-old man was shot Wednesday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of East 81st Street, police said.

The victim, shot in the chest, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Details about the shooting were not immediately available.
