Three shot during Avalon Park home invasion

Three men were shot during a home invasion Tuesday afternoon in the South Side Avalon Park neighborhood.

The home invasion and shooting happened in the 8000 block of South Dante about 1:20 p.m., police said, citing preliminary information.

The intended victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the neck and taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately known, but the wound isn’t thought to be life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger in critical condition, police said. A 20-year-old was shot in the arm and taken to Jackson Park Hospital.
