Three shot, one fatally, during Avalon Park home invasion

Three men were shot — one fatally — during a home invasion Tuesday afternoon in the South Side Avalon Park neighborhood.

The home invasion and shooting happened in the 8000 block of South Dante about 1:20 p.m., police said.

Antinino Walker, 28, of the 6500 block of South Champlain was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:17 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Another man, 20, was shot in the arm and taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, police said.

The intended victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the neck and taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

No charges had been filed as of Wednesday morning.
