NORMAL, Ill. (AP) — Jeannie Boehm scored 22 points to lead New Trier past Homewood-Flossmoor 43-41 on Saturday to take third place in the girls Class 4A state tournament.

In a game where the lead changed hands nine times, New Trier (31-2) finally was able to pull ahead for good late in the third quarter, thanks to Boehm’s hot hand and a suffocating defense. Boehm also grabbed 13 rebounds. Kathryn Pedi scored 7 points for the Trevians, while Rachel West added 6.

Homewood-Flossmoor (20-8) was led by Nadia Green’s 12 points, while Faith Suggs and Bria Stallworth added 9 points each.

The Vikings lost to Benet 77-71 in Friday’s semifinals, while New Trier was crushed by Fremd 57-28.
