A 17-year-old boy was injured in a Washington Heights neighborhood drive-by shooting Wednesday night on the South Side.

About 9:30 p.m., the teenager was standing on the sidewalk in the 9900 block of South Peoria when someone fired shots from a light-colored vehicle, police said.

He was shot in the foot and a friend drove him to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
