Police issued a community alert Sunday warning of several burglaries at home in the North Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

At least one person forces open the door of an apartment or residence and steals property, including jewelry, cash, laptops and small electronics, according to the community alert from Area North detectives. In three out of the four reported burglaries, the residents only left their home for a short period of time.

The burglaries happened:

  • in the 5700 block of North Jersey at 10:30 a.m. April 4;
  • in the 3300 block of West Ardmore between 6 and 6:10 p.m. April 5;
  • in the 5700 block of North Drake between 7:10 and 7:45 a.m. on April 14;
  • and in the 5600 block of North Bernard between 10:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on April 17.

No description of the suspects is available. Police advise residents to activate alarm systems and to report any suspicious people in the area.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
