Boy, 15, shot in Englewood

A 15-year-old boy was shot Friday evening in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The teenager was sitting on a front porch in the 7100 block of South Carpenter about 7:45 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the hip, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
