Two men shot, wounded in Evanston

Two men were wounded in a shooting early Saturday in Evanston.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired on Howard Street near Dodge Avenue at about 3:50 a.m. found spent shell casings, and a short time later two gunshot victims showed up in the emergency room at Presence Saint Francis Hospital, the police said.

The men told officers they had just left a club in Chicago and were in a vehicle westbound on Howard with two other people when another vehicle pulled up and someone fired at them and then took off.

One of the victims, a 23-year-old Waukegan resident, was shot in the head and groin, and the other, a 23-year-old Round Lake Beach man, was shot in an arm, according to the police, who said neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
