A 16-year-old boy was shot Saturday night in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

About 10:40 p.m., the boy was walking in the 6200 block of South Hermitage when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the ankle, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
