West Town man charged with two armed robberies

A West Town man has been charged with two armed robberies in his neighborhood in August.

Christopher Pratile, 30, was charged with two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm, according to Chicago Police.

The first robbery happened about 11 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 2100 block of West Huron, according to police. Pratile walked up to a 23-year-old woman, pulled out a handgun, and demanded her purse and cellphone before running away.

About 5 p.m. on Aug. 9, Pratile walked up to a 38-year-old man in the 1600 block of West Cortez and demanded his wallet and cellphone.

No injuries were reported in the robberies.

Pratile, of the 1400 block of North Ashland, is next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 22, police said.
