The Blackhawks made it official that Patrick Kane, who is currently under police investigation, will attend Blackhawks training camp when it opens on Thursday.
Social media quickly reacted to the news, and the views were mixed:
I'm surprised by this. The prudent, safe thing to do was to have Kane work out on his own until there was some resolution in the case.

@MarkLazerus surprised?? Lol so you're saying a player not charged with a crime shouldn't attend training camp?

@MarkLazerus I don't think they had much of an option given that he hasn't been charged and the provisions in the CBA

Hearing that Patrick Kane will be at training camp makes me disappointed in the @NHLBlackhawks

All I'm gonna say re: Patrick Kane? Only opinion that matters on whether he should be at camp? The front office. And they've decided.

@MarkLazerus I get the impression people are misjudging how serious the reaction is. Lots of older people not reading the temperature right.

@MarkLazerus Guess there will be two circus trips this year - maybe more

I'm really disappointed that the Blackhawks haven't gotten rid of Patrick Kane yet. #DoTheRightThing
