A man was found shot to death early Tuesday in his South Chicago neighborhood home.

Albert Gonzalez, 48, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck in his home in the 8500 block of South Burley about 4:45 a.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:19 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Wednesday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area South detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.
