Forest Park man charged with child pornography

A 49-year-old west suburban man has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Eric Whealdon, of Forest Park, was charged after investigators found multiple e-mails containing sexually explicit images of children from his personal account, the Cook County State Attorney’s office announced Saturday.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received information that pornographic images of children 13 and younger had been sent by Whealdon to another e-mail address, prosecutors said.

Last Wednesday, investigators determined that the e-mail address was registered to Whealdon’s Forest Park home. A search of his home computer turned up the sexually explicit images, prosecutors said.

Whealdon’s bond was set at $20,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court again Tuesday in Maywood.
