Man shot in West Englewood

A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of South Ashland about 1 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The 41-year-old victim was shot in the side and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, Sweeney said.
