A 42-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike was struck by an SUV Saturday afternoon in north suburban Wilmette.
The crash happened at Sheridan Road near Michigan Avenue at 12:08 p.m., according to Wilmette police.
A 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee was southbound on Sheridan Road when it turned left to enter Gillson Park in front of a motorcycle that was northbound on Sheridan, police said.
The 42-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Paul Choi, was taken to Evanston Hospital, where he died at 2:43 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy Sunday found Choi, who lived in the 5900 block of Capulina Avenue in Morton Grove, died of multiple blunt force injuries and ruled his death an accident.
The 79-year-old Wilmette man driving the Jeep was not hurt, police said. His passenger, a 78-year-old woman, was also taken to Evanston Hospital with minor injuries.
There is no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, police said. No charges have been filed as of Monday morning.
