Man killed in Far South Side shooting identified

A man who was shot to death Sunday morning in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side has been identified.

About 5:25 a.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 11700 block of South LaSalle found the 31-year-old victim inside a car parked in an alley, Chicago Police said.

The man, later identified as Marquis Adams of the 4400 block of Ascott Court in Richton Park, had been shot multiple times, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Adams was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:04 a.m., authorities said. An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to the torso and his death was ruled a homicide.
