Semi driver injured in Bishop Ford shooting

A semi driver was injured in a shooting on the Bishop Ford Freeway Wednesday night on the Far South Side.

The 29-year-old man was driving the semi northbound on Interstate 94 just south of 130th Street about 8:30 p.m. when the driver of another vehicle shot him in the leg, according to Illinois State Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The ramp to northbound I-94 from 130th Street was temporarily closed after the shooting, but had reopened by midnight, according to police.

No one was in custody in connection with the shooting as of early Thursday, police said.
