A man was fatally shot in the Burnside neighborhood on the South Side on Tuesday afternoon.

The 28-year-old victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back of the head in the 9300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at 3:30 p.m., police said.

Marsolino White, of the 7700 block of South Coles, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
