Police are warning residents of a series of garage burglaries over the past month in the Irving Park neighborhood on the North Side.

The burglaries occurred at:

  • between noon and 7:15 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 3400 block of North Ridgeway Avenue;
  • between 7:45 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sept. 11-12 in the 3400 block of North Ridgeway Avenue;
  • 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sept. 11-12 in the 3700 block of North Drake Avenue;
  • 5:10 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 3700 block North Central Park Avenue.

In each incident, a burglar forcibly entered the garage and removed numerous tools, toolboxes, compressors and other property, police said.

In one incident, the suspect is described as a 25-to-30-year-old, 5-foot-9 Hispanic man with short black hair. He was seen driving a black Dodge Dart.
