A West Side police chase that was “pursuant to an ongoing homicide investigation” ended with one person in custody Tuesday evening, police said.

The pursuit started about 5:14 p.m. near the intersection of Jackson and Sacramento and ended in the 200 block of North Central, police said.

The homicide in question was not specified, but police said the investigation was being conducted by Area North detectives and the Gang Investigations Section.

One person was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, police said.
